  • Problem With Headstock

    Hi there.

The headstock of my Jackson TOP NR 1996, is warping to a U shape. If i look in the same line of tuners in the headstock, i see the wood forming a U shape, like this way (, it is not straight as a line.

Is that normal? What can i do now?

Post some pics if you can.
I've never seen one warp in the manner you describe.
It's all but impossible unless it's in a very wet/humid location. Like insanely humid.

Or unless you've got 15s on it for ultra-detuned burp metal.

A friend of mine briefly had an older Jackson DK2 that the headstock did the same thing.

The red line, means what the line of headstock should be.

Nothing to worry about, it is a variance in final sanding.

Odd you mention it, my Fender USA Deluxe headstock is gradually bending upwards. It doesn't hurt anything and Fender UK said it was normal. I've had it for a few years and it doesn't appear to be moving any further. Still, just a weird thing to see.

I'm worried, because the warping its even bigger, when you see the headstock personally.

This might be due to the camera lens, but the back of the headstock looks straight to me..

Ive seen it happen, especially on my Concert V bass, and a few other guitar necks. Its something that happens over time, but unless it gets really bad or effects the finish, not something I would worry about.
