Just a suggestion, but I wouldn't change a single hum ever!! But that's just me :-)Rudy

I prefer one hum guitars, I use the neck pickup only in studio and you know, shredding with the neck pickup is like cheating!!

I appreciate everyone replies and pics but I've decided to go for the HS config. I came to the conclusion that I'm just not going to be happy in the end with just one pickup. I like a little variety in every guitar.
That said, I'm going to get a Dimarzio Fast Track 1 or Chopper without the flange so the route will be as small as possible and minimize interrupting the graphic. By losing the flange, the pickup ends up having the same profile as an EMG single coil.

I love single hum guitars. I have a handful with other pickup configs, mostly because they were production guitars or bought used but the majority of them are 1H. The Nagel graphic is a great choice. Again, I like the look a single hum so the graphic does't get distorted. But if it's done right, a Nagel will look good with a HS. Here's a GMW that was done last summer with a HS so you can get the general idea of what the neck pickup will look like with that type of graphic.

That Nagel looks sweet. The blue looks like some kind of swirly texture. Nice touch.
I'm going to get something done in the style of Nagel vs. an explicit copy of one of his images. I'm not worried about the blending being done correctly - Mike Learn will be doing it.

Really like single hum guitars but the only ones I have are bolt on necks. If I could order a custom build, I would have a single hum Soloist, reverse headstock, Floyd and a graphic (maybe a Nagel) or neon color paint. No honey, I have always had this Jackson....

This suggestion isn't very Charvelesque, but if it were my guitar, I'd go with the Hum Bridge, and ....wait for it....P90 neck.
There are NO pickups out there that can match a P90 tone. And a P90 in the neck position?!?!?! ....I've never come across a BIGGER GLASSIER BOOMING SEARING SNARLING but SINGING tone from any pickup other than a neck P90.
They are their own animal completely.
I for one LUVEM!I live on the edge of danger facing life and death every single day.....then I leave her at home and go disarm bombs.
