Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

That is COOL!

So now everyone(at least 10),let's talk on specs.

I need a solosit with non recessed Floyd, 1hum.

or 2hums with reversed headstock.

The color, to go safe way(cheaper I mean), Solid color will be fine.

My e-mail : [email protected]

Please Matt, keep me updated when you have a special order ones.

Ok DJM, that is a great start, butr since I don`t care for Reverse Headstocks, I vote for the regular headstock, the 1 Hum is way cool, solid color is fine, maybe something different like Black Cherry or something? Non-Recessed Trem is ideal. Ok, that is 2 that think a 1 Hum Soloist is cool and solid color and non-recessed trem. How about the scale 24.75 or 25.5, I vote for the 24.75 to make it really unique, but I respect everyones input, and how about binding? Creme or Black? Deffiantly Fins-right? hardware color-black or chrome? I like black. We only nead 10 dudes, let`s talk Jack.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I hate to say it but, getting 10 guys to agree 100% around here is going to be damn near impossible.
Do something different and you'll sell them.

Ya that`s true, but I say let`s give it ago and see what happens. I also for got to mention pickups and an all mahogany body and neck would be cool, but I am open of course Jack.

single hum, short scale, std matching headstock, black binding....I'd be very tempted

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I'll put my money down for a 24-fret soloist hardtail w/ an oiled (unfinished) neck. It must NOT have gold hardware (either chrome or black chrome). A trans black or trans blue finish would be the ticket. As for headstock....I like the SLS headstock but I'd go for the tradtional soloist headstock reversed.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

OK, now at least 3 or 4 guys like the idea of Soloist with 1 hum.
I think it is cool. This way, in case IF you decide to go with additional pickup(s), you ca always add.

We have to go with something not too different from stock models because it will be hard for 10guys to agree on specs.Same for the pickup.
We can just put whatever and later you can swap with something else of your choice.

Body wood, when you go with quilt top, it becomes expensive.Solid Mahogany or Alder will be reasonable price.

Neck, neck through with unfinished neck back(oiled) will be cool. Like Alexi's guitars.

So what do you guys think?

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I'll check in tomorrow and see where you guys are at with this. If you can roughly agree on some specs together I'll get in touch with Brian at Jackson and see about putting a price tag on these guitars.

Later guys!

Last word was the only changes allowed were paint and hardware without paying custom shop prices.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

While it's a nice idea to get your ideal Custom Shop Jackson at USA Select pricing, you will never agree on the specs. Each person is trying to get their own Custom Shop guitar specs as the limited production run. Each person that has suggested a possible spec list needs to step up to the plate and actually order their own guitar. We went through this same scenario with the JCF guitars, and it was a nightmare. That is why we finally decided that we would have historical Jacksons reproduced. (RR's lost Jackson, Big Red, maybe a JB pink Soloist....) We went with the identical specs of the actual guitar, that is the only way we were ever able to agree on anything.

Matt - If you want to save yourself a lot of headaches, come up with your own specs, and make a limited production run. IMO, there are A LOT of people (not me) who want a 24 fret Rhoads, that might be a good place to start. I also heard what OSG was saying, that Jackson will no longer make these limited production runs, due to the streamlining of the CS and the USA Select series.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

My choice would be mahogany body, maple neck-thru, reversed sharkfins, neck/headstock binding, humbucker in the bridge, single coil in the neck, non-recessed Floyd, standard pointy headstock or SLS headstock. As for scale length, I don't really care, but a 25" scale like a PRS/Carvin/Jackson SweeTone would be sweet!
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

This is a pic from old JCF board.
Craftdog's soloists and check the Black one on left.
This looks very cool!
Black Soloist with String through,1hum EMG,24frets.

or another pic from the JCF Gallery.
This one is with Floyd.

Kind of looks like Charvel Model 5
What do you guys think? 1500+ JCF members here, we just need at least 10 guys to come to agree on specs to go!
