Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I got a quote of $3870, now I don`t know what that comes out in discount and dealer priceing? But i wasn`t sure on 22 or 24 frets, is it a big deal? would these have Custom Shop on the headstock? Well, it`s up to Matt now Jack.

Like Matt frm Online says,if we change only the hardware or graphic, it will be U.S. Select price.
If something really custom order, will be custom shop price.
We should keep that in mind and not to go to far.
Seriously the price will be ridiculously high.
If a special one can be priced under 2K, that would be great but not over 3K.
Then it is just a custom order guitar.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I kinda agree with you, but if it is just going to be a Special Select Series guitar with just 1 Hum, then that defeats the purpose of a truly Special guitar, I already have a Black SL2H, so the only difference would be just 1 Humbucker, not enough to get me to move on it, it would have to have some more special features and I am sorry for that, but I am looking for certain features to make it really Special I am sorry if I lead people down the wrong path and Matt if you think it will cost to much, just say so and I`ll steo to the side Jack.

I think you should make a Jackson in the shape of a Gibson SG, but neck thru-mahogany with mahogany wings, an ebony fretboard, 2 volumes and tones with a 3 way switch and coil taps on each pickup, sharkfin inlays, a big fat neck, Tonepros bridge with strings thru the body, and a 3 to a side headstock!!

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I'm not into one humbucker guitars as much any more. I'd prefer an H/S setup since you hardly see them around, especially from Jackson. If it does have one humbucker, I'd like it to have either a mini switch or a push/pull in the volume pot for coil tapping. And I'd also like it to have a tone control (not that I use a tone control that often, but at times it does come in handy). String-thru or non-recessed Floyd is okay with me, with regular pointy or SLS headstock, reverse sharkfins.

I definitely like the idea of the black string-through 1 hum 24 fret.

I'd be interested in a single hum soloist, esp if it had reversed headstock and inlays. Also, I'd like a non recessed floyd sitting on the body face, a-la EVH. Oiled neck would be cool as well...

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

I tried doing this about a year ago through OSG. Same thing. There were many multi page threads devoted to specs, and try as I did to lead the whole thing, it was impssible to get ten of you to agree on specs. Every discussion turned into three pages of people suggesting something different and TOTALLY missing the point that we were gonna have to find a compromise to make this work. Everyone was specing thier personal version or just flat dreaming and NOT working together. After I'd had enough, I stepped aside and watched it die.
So, good luck to you all trying to do this again. It'll never work, though.

Hey Toejam, fellow member of the former-Kelly-XL-and-current-Hamer-USA-owner club.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on the H-S setup. I want fatness in the bridge and delicate sparkle in the neck out of my guitars.

Check this out - the XL as I sold it.

Anyone that's interested in pricing on the single humbucker Soloist I priced can email me at [email protected]. If 10 people on here wanted to order this model (or something like it) the price would be pretty affordable.

Again, please do me a favor and don't post any prices that are discussed on the forum.

Re: MATT\'S MUSIC

if a speacial production/custom shop run is what you are looking to do, why don't you give the real fans what they want.

a jackson STRAT (like the old days) but make it neck through,
mah. or korina,
white body,
black pickguard,
non-recessed OFR in black,
ebony board,
2 super 3 distortions (in white with white rings ontop of black pickguard),
24 frets,
soloist neck profile,
complete with jackson logo'd strat headstock.

call it the JCF-OSM (old school metal) run 10 of these and you'll be gettin orders for 20.

I have written back and forth with Matt, and got a price, but not the exact specs, so I asked him about the specs. Let`s see what happens Jack.
