  • An updated JS Series!

It's been a while since the last time I've been around, so my apologies if this was posted here before. Anyhow, a bunch of new JS guitars was just added, that also include a couple of new Warriors! What's up with excessive use of the zebra pickups!!!

Just swap the zebras if you don't like them.
All they have to do is give them the quilt finishes seen on the Dinky and Soloist, and I'll place an order. I already have two Warriors in black.

Yeah sure, spend another $200+ to replace the ugly zebras! ... I really like the look of the Red Warrior though, but I'm not sure about the quality here, after all, these babies meant for the beginner homies!... If it weren't for my damn credit card high balances, I would've already placed a couple of CS Select orders by now!
Also, I've noticed that some of the color choices on the other series (XMGs and Select) have been reduced, and I wonder if they're trying to push people to place more CS Select orders with that strategy!

I applaud the use of zebras - they really stand out in the crowd. Jackson has really stepped up their game the past few years!
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Of course, that's the idea! Why settle for an old standard finish, chrome hardware on trans-colours, same control layout when you have a much bigger choice from the Custom Select pallete? The Warrior model has always had the least number of finishes across all the series, until now. Its like going back to the time when the WR1 first came out - you had shitloads of finishes to choose from. They simply vanished from lack of demand.

RR with floyd and red Warrior are on my shopping list. In my opinion zebras are killer looking in those.

All the finishes disappeared from the lineup to save costs. All models were affected, not just the WR1.

And keeping the JS series is proof that Fender doesn't know what to do with Jackson. Keep watering down the brand name and nobody will be playing Jackson...

Probably they still want the Jackson brand to appeal to kids/parents with the smaller budgets in mind, this economy is certainly still in recession and I think we're in it for a long while! And they've definitely improved the look of JS series quite a bit!

I got a Warrior JS32 around 2010 or 2011 and it's been a decent guitar. I don't think it's a bad idea to turn beginning players on to the Jackson brand. No advanced player is going to mistake a JS32 for a high-end guitar.

While the JS32 doesn't compare to my USA KV2, it's still as good as anything out there the competitors are offering in its price point. The JS32 certainly exceeds anything brands such as B.C. Rich or Dean are putting out in that price range, and as for Epiphone, well...

I agree wholeheartedly with the above two points. I think it's naive to ignore the lower end market, unless you're going to deliver shitty axes that no one will want to buy anyway. But with these features i think Jackson is offering some great specs at this price-point; these remind me of the old Japanese Pro series in terms of looks and features. I think Jackson is really making waves here with all the revamped line-ups including the Custom Select, X-series, Pro-series and now the JS series. If anything, instead of watering down the brand as xeno loves to argue, i reckon they're actually making all the series distinct amongst themselves with a heavy emphasis (at least to me) on 'tier' instruments, starting with JS and going all the way up to Masterbuilt.

It's funny to think what a sorry state of affairs Jackson was in four years ago when i joined this board and how much they've done to expand into new territories since then what with the 7-strings, 8-strings, and all the new series, etc..

Devotee, you got it right. I agree with you.

I've been preaching the JS serie since I got for fun a JS30 Kelly. I wanted a Kelly shape Jackson with a fixed bridge and back then, except from going CS, the JS was the only option.

Since then, I got a JS KV in a trade for so damn cheap (traded a pedal for it) and both KE and KV have seen the stage with me. Nope, both aren't my JP6 (my main axe) but both are very decent axes in their stock form and for the price they sell.

As I said in another post about that new serie, that new KV black with white bevel is very tempting!

The addition of a pickguard on the JS Rhoads is nice.

In the last 10 years, forum activity has dropped, not increased. You'd think all those kids would want to come to their guitar site. Nope. Jackson isn't in the limelight and hasn't been for quite a while now. And as for low to mid-priced Jacksons and Charvels, I'll take a Korean World Guitar build over anything Jackson puts out, they're far better built and use better materials.

However, it would be nice if you can buy a Ferrari clone for the price of a KIA.
