Which Jackson line

We all know that the 80's and early 90's USA made Jacksons are the epitome of what a shredder axe is.


But if you had to buy a Jackson that wasn't one of those, which would it be and why.

An AT Pro or a Soloist Pro or a Kelly Pro or an RR Pro.

Why? Should be obvious that the Pro models were just as good as the USAs.

I've owned Jacksons from almost all eras - 80s "Customs" and Students to the 90's USA and comparable Pros, and imports and USAs from the 90s through 2010. Japan and India imports from the top to the bottom.

The one constant is that each one is only as good as the player using it. A crappy guitarist can not play any better on a USA than a JS. It's less effort for them to suck on a USA, but a good player can make a JS sound as good as a USA.

However, from a build-quality standpoint, I'd personally avoid the JS series simply because I expect more/better from the hardware and electronics, though I've found no problems with the woodwork (frets, board, neck-to-body joint, etc).

If you had a stockpile of quality replacement parts, you could easily turn a JS into a working axe.
