This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

        • I spoke with Grover a few years ago in the Jackson booth at NAMM. He says he was brought back to consult on manufacturing processes. I asked how long he was sticking around. He laughed and said as long as they'd have him.

But is that because he is happy or because he could use the money?

            • We talked for a bit that year. What I got out of it was Jackson needed his help to optimize some manufacturing processes and it seemed that he didn't have any illusions about being kept indefinitely.

When I spoke to him 2 years ago at his first GJ2 Guitars booth he again talked about optimizing processes for building high quality guitars. He wants consistently great playing guitars and seems to have some processes down that allow that. He didn't say anything bad about Jackson at all, and seemed happy to be doing his own thing again.

That's awesome to hear but I still wish he was with Jackson full time.

I don't. What he's doing now allows him to build a better product. And he does.

So the GJ2's are really great then?

As far as I'm concerned. I've been able to play a bunch over the past couple of years while they've been in town for guitar shows. Every single one that I've played were fantastically built, played great, and sounded great. I'm a fan of their pickups, too, and use them as the stock pickup for Sully guitars. I don't really buy guitars anymore, and don't really have a need to, but if I were to buy a new guitar, it'd be one of theirs.

That's one hell of an endorsement from a guy who builds great guitars himself. I've heard nothing but good things about the Habanero pick ups as well. Sadly we have no GJ2 dealers in the Pgh. Pa. area. We barely have any USA Jackson dealers here.

                        • The ones I have played have been fantastic.

If you want to try a set of Habaneros, let me know.

                              Crack head price.

Sure, it's a nice rare guitar... did Randy ever even touch it? One of his recognized stage guitars could probably easily hit $30k, but something that he never used?

                                I'd agree. Granted, it's a guitar with a legendary story, but I wouldn't think it'd happen. Granted.....if I had 30k burning a hole, I'd probably consider it lol
