Having seen that group of new Jacksons photo in another thread, I realise that yellow soloist is in fact an SLX The board did look rather dark though. Too bad I can't have an SL2H in that colour.

In all seriousness I would like to get my hands on an old Hummingbird acoustic one of these days. They're tits!

Found one some years ago in a local shop for $650 that had to have the neck re-seated. Sawn off, shimmed and shaved, perfect fit and intonation, but it sounded like a wet sock. Honestly my POS Gretsch Dorado sounds better, though it's useless for anything but slide.

Save your money and overpay for a spanky-new Hummingbird. Even with the strings horribly out of tune, they sound great (found that in another store - they kept the strings slack to prevent neck/top warpage, and they wanted $2500)

Well I have two high end acoustics already ( a Martin and a Taylor.) I am not in a rush or anything. I'll just keep looking until I find the right one. I know my acoustics very well and I won't buy anything without making sure about it first.

But the guitars from that era rarely had 3 pots - 2 was much more common. This is the neck 'join' or rather heel that they're using on them (this is from my 2009 Soloist):
