Kelly Case Conundrum

My KEXMG came with one of those cases but on its way to the UK from America it got two cracks in it. It's a poor design IMO. My old KE3 just had a big rectangular wooden case with foam inserts, and I had rectangular Gator case which I used for an RR3 and my Charvel DST star. Although the Jackson one looks nice with the logo, it's not that great a case.

Although, in saying that, the guitar was OK so I suppose it did its job!

Those do seem like they are made poorly. I've seen several cracked the exact same way. There is another one cracked just like that on eBay.

It's a real shame - the nice case was one of the selling points for me and, because it's moulded plastic there's no way for me to fix it (if it was covered wood I could repair it myself easy enough).

hi all , hope your well , ok alz chimeing in , iv'e owned many kelly's, star, explorers, ect , my advise is anything that fits is ok , get some foam , glue, and , or paint n screws n build a case ! its so easy , the ibanez and kramer case work well !
i know , i have modded a few cases in my old days , its so easy , get em cheap if you still can ? local ? anyway i do love kelly's of all 3 sizes , rock on ! best wishs to all, alz / 2014 --cheers ,,,,,z

Super glue and some clamps should fix that plastic case.

Bumper epoxy will fix that.
