Help with details about my Jackson

Hello. I have a Jackson Soloist XL I purchased in the early/mid 90's I'd like to get more information about (date, origin, etc). The headstock has Professional on it. I'm having trouble reading the serial number pressed into the last fret (photo below). To me it looks like: J901854 but I can't find anything like that sequence online. I'd also like to know if the metallic black finish is nitrocellulose, so I can properly take care of the finish.

I think they were polyester paint, and Professional means made in Japan.
