Somewhere along the way, Old School Burst was miss represented as Bourbon Burst on the Jackson site. I wanted a Bourbon Burst but I took what was available. It seems that they either did not make a lot of these or they all sold out quickly and are hiding under beds somewhere.

Yes, Jackson had the description wrong on their site and mixed up Bourbon Burst with Old School Burst. I thought mine was originally Old School, but it's ineed Bourbon. And
Newc had an Old School Burst and thought his was Bourbon.
A Jackson rep on here eventually did confirm it was a mistake. He said to think of Bourbon Burst as darker, like what a glass of bourbon would look like, and the Old School Burst would be similar to Jimmy Page's old Les Paul being more on the yellow side.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
They're not. USA models are only Custom Shop. They did a USA run here of the Black Beauties, and I've seen a 7-string with graphic also done, but all production models are imports.

$1600 is a bit high for a guitar, but it's also a very well-made guitar, equal I'd say to the 1990 neckthrough Pro models, which listed around that price originally.
And since the Japan plant is shut down, you're going to have to pay the asking prices for Japan-made models.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

I remember that thread. I kept looking at the pics going "waitaminnit - what kinda bourbon they been drinking that comes in 2 colors, and what kinda bursts they been looking at that have no burst?"
Then it hit me they musta reversed them, then McD (IIRC) came in and straightened it out.
