Hi. A guy is asking for help. He wants to buy an used Jackson guitar, it has a golden Jackson logotype printed on the headstock. I have never seen the letters printed in that color! It´s just like the 80´s Kramers. A fake?

Yeah, probably coloured by an owner.
It's rare to see a Japanese made JS series, especially with black hardware and a vintage style tremolo.
The serial indicates 2003. The JS30 Dinky was made in Japan in 2003, so possibly there were others? It looks similar to a JS20.
I found this link showing a 2 humbucker model with a very similar serial number. Possibly a limited edition or a model that wasn't released in North America?
96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

I'd need better pics before calling it a fake.
The dots do seem wide. The headstock looks 'off', but those angled pics can be deceiving. A truss rod cover could easily be changed.Last edited by Mudlark; 05-11-2015, 06:29 PM.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
