Are you sure the tremolo mounts aren't the JT-6 kind? They are usually app. twice as fat as the Schaller ones.

If that is the case, I'm sure someone in this forum can help you out! I've got a used set, but they're worn to hell!

they sound like the right ones, about twice as wide as shaller, with the very fine threads on the inside where the tremolo height adjusters screw into...i need bad...will buy new or good used ones...and does anybody know if they are available new? or do i dare try...read about recent parts being hard to get for charvel jackson right now...

They stopped making those tremolo mounts about 15 years ago, so your best bet is to buy them off someone on this board.

I've got a set if you want them. The inserts only, no posts, if that'll help. If you want them email me your address and I'll send them your way.

Just a quick note:

I'm sure you'll find some. But if not, you'll need to fill the existing holes with a hardwood dowel.. (use one thats oversize to the hole)glues in place. Then using a drill press (very important), you can drill it out for standard post inserts.

A pain, I know.. but about the only way to rectify the situation if you can't find any original posts.

Another quick note:
I did what 2loud2old says, and if you don't have much experience with guitar repair, I DON'T RECOMMEND DOING THIS! I, being the repair-n00b that I am, attempted this "repair". I plugged and redrilled the holes 3 times! Then I got sick of it, and now the trem is on crooked posts!

But then again, I didn't even have a template!

And don't think that I'm stupid and incompetent! Sure, the trem did work, but it was always off by 5 cents when I pulled up on it! So I blocked it!

So if you're anal about your guitar, don't do this!
