As far as I recall, the rumoured pricerange on the last batch was pretty insane.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Probably. If he charges what he did for the last ones he sold off he can clear six figures easily from that lot.

Maybe, maybe not. Regardless of financial need, Dave's ownership is more of a price boost now than it will be down the road of his deal with ESP. May as well get as much as he can for them, and if that's twice as much today as it will be in 5 years, why store 'em and watch 'em depreciate?

On the other hand, if he's using again he could probably spend $1 million a year in his arm. So it could be either way. he fact the 8 ball is his new sig's "sig" is
a bad sign.

that's insane! Is Mustaine broke or something?

Or he probably has HUNDREDS of guitars!
He will probably sell them again for about 7000 US, minimum.

I do know that one of the guitars last auction was sold for $13,000. It was an "ordinary looking" black Y2KV.

That Firebird sure is sweet!
But I would rather order one using the custom shop. Same guitar, same specs, MUCH lower price.

As for ESP guitars, I wonder how Mustaine's DV8 are doing? Do you think they would sell as well
as the KV1 and Y2KV?
Hmmmmm??

2 on the text list say Not For Sale, but 4 in the pic have Not For Sale on the fretboard (12-string V, black V, silver V, and the red/pink Dinky)

I hear those DV8s will be selling for $2500... I don't think they will sell as well as the Jacksons just because of that. Plus, who wants Japanese crap when you can get a USA Jackson? $2500 for dot inlays and an ugly ass guitar modeled after an LTD? I've finished selling off all my ESPs and it feels so good!!!!!!!!! I now own a USA Kelly with EMGs and two custom shop neckthru BC Richs... Both brands kick ass!!!!!!!

Re: Mustaine Auctioning off more Jacksons.....

I agree that if Dave had difficulty buying Jackson he'd probably have a harder time buying ESP. The ESP company does a lot more business than Jackson. I had this conversation with some of the ESP guys last year and they do a lot more than you might think in sales every year. I was surprised when I was told about the numbers.

So does Dave "hate" Fender because they bought Jackson before he could, or is there more to it than just that?

Me personally? I love Megadeth... great band!!

Re: Mustaine Auctioning off more Jacksons.....

Ok, here we go with the Dave Mustaine bashing again. Is there nothing better to do? Ok, for starters, Dave is NOT broke. It does appear that he is in the business of making money as of late though with his sales of road Jacksons and I even saw his GMC SUV on EBAY, new business ventures like Chris Olson Customs, trying to acquire others like the much talked about attempt to buy Jackson and now these rumors of possibly ESP. His problem was not with FMIC, it was with AMIC, and it wasn't that he didn't come up with the money in time to buy Jackson.....it was a handshake deal with AMIC that they were sneaky about. I'm pretty sure that Mustaine and FMIC knew nothing of each others active interist in buying the company. Dave doesn't hate Fender, he just doesn't like their style of guitars and was even quoted as saying "Jackson may still make a top quality product, but I just don't know." Dave Ellefson has a Fender endorsement and played them on the last few Megadeth albums and tours.

When Dave cancelled the Y2KV orders I was one of those guys that got beat out of a guitar, but Dave was more than fourthcoming in his response as to why. I've got a right to ***** and don't, so I just gotta wonder why people can't just let it go?
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Just saw Dave on a rerun of the Drew Carrey show-trying out for the guitar player in Drew's band. I'm not sure how old the episode was, but Dave was noodling away on a V through a Marshall stack and sounded like A$$. I can understand why alot of people don't like Mustaine. Just pick up any guitar mag in which he is interviewed and he comes off as a complete d!ck he@d. I enjoyed Megadeth alot when I was a teenager, but Dave's attitude is a real turnoff to most.

well for whatever reason, dave does not like Fender.

This is for certain, he does not have any need for money quick, he has plenty.

Oh yeah, I am the big man, Dave Mustaine, and I could have bought the entire Jackson guitar company, but the timing wasn't right and some other bs excuse I can't think of right now. Oh, and by the way, do you want to buy a guitar? I have rent to pay.
DM is a killer player and I love Megadeth, but it doesn't change the fact that the guy spews more bs out of his mouth than the truth. I agree, he is selling a bunch of road guitars that he probably almost never even touched. I notice that he is keeping quite a few Jacksons, not just the ones pictured? Must be for the studio, where a quality guitar is still the king. He can play whatever piece of crap that ESP is paying him to play live. They must be slow with their royalty checks at ESp, so Dm has to sell some of his real guitars to make ends meet.
