  • I'm looking for a 1000 or less charvel superstrat any suggestions?

I'm looking for a 1000 or less Charvel superstrat. I've played a few in the past and loved them. But no guitar shop around me carries charvels, and I'm leery of not playing a rig before buying. I'm also torn between the gamble of buying a vintage charvel at a good price or buying a mim new one. I play lots of classic rock through nineties rock primarily.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I pl

    What are you looking for? 22 / 24 frets? OFR/Schaller/JT6/Kahler/V-trem? 2 hum, h/s/s etc?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I own a Jackson dxmg and I really like the emg dual humbuckers, and the fast action. But I'm not as big of a fan of the rosewood fretboard. Every chattel I've played have had maple ones. I find them smoother. But I'm relatively uninformed.

Well, gotta say there's plenty of choice today, the old US or MIJ Pro Mods, the current MIM Pro Mods, the pre buyout pointies

Thanks, I've been looking at a lot of san dimas Charvels and they look pretty nice. Also, the so call look right up my alley. My only issue is that the ones in my price range all seem to be made in mexico. I know from some friends that play fenders, that Mexican fender strats are of good quality, but maybe not as good as us models. I'm very satisfied with my Japanese made Jackson but I don't think Charvel still makes any guitars there. I'm just trying to get the best Charvel superstrat for a grand. I've never paid that much for a guitar before, and I feel like I should ask around before pulling the trigger.

You could look at the old MIJ Jackson DK2Ms if you don't mind it saying Jackson instead of Charvel on the headstock. Only MIJ Jackson/Charvels that are easy to find that have a maple board

Keep an eye on Ebay for Charvel USA ProMods.

I've been seeing lots of US made Production models on eBay sell for $1000 or less. It's a buyer's market so you'll have no problem find what you want in that price range.

You should be able to find a nice USA ProMod for $1000 or less. Just have to keep an eye out on Ebay, Reverb or the other resale sites. Or you can spend a little less and get an import ProMod. Here's one for sale on Craig's List in Pittsburgh area. I'm sure there's plenty others out there.
