  • Rhoads cases

Some people seem to say the Rhoads does not fit in the Jackson case supplied by Jackson. I need to find a case for my Rhoads RRT 5 Pro. Some people say ESP has great cases for rhoads because they use the double rhoads model (bigger wings than rhoads and king v) for their V's... ANy pics of the Jackson rhoads RRT in the Jackson case which is out there on the internet? Any pics of other cases? Anything helps guys

Rhoads cases are fine. They double as a king v case.

SOME Rhoads cases double as a King V case. While others are formed for the oblong sides.

Hey, tyryny, the thing with Rhoads cases is the same as all other cases...
Unless you are buying a case from the manufacturer, you really should buy it in person. There are, IMO, too many variables in cases and in guitars, for any one-size fits all type of deal. I mean, have a bolt on and a neck thru with the exact same body, but they can't use each other's cases because of the way the neck joint is made. I have one that needs put in headstock first because the padding is that perfectly fit.

Protecting the headstock is probably the most important thing. I can't speak for ESP, but don't use an Ibanez case for a Jackson because the tilt-angle of the headstock let's it touch bottom and therefore keeps the neck raised off of where it is to be touching.

I had a Gator case for my RR5 - big oblong thing, bloody huge pain in the arse. It DID also take my Charvel DST Star once I'd had some foam inserts made up (by a guy on the Seymour Duncan forum actually, for free. What a guy!)

My KVXT came with some standard (non-Jackson) V shaped case and it fits my RR24XXT perfectly. Much better!

I own maybe 10 RR guitars and find that they all fit the v case. I have all the variants as well. I have a combo case, the TSA v shaped case, the original 1990-1995 rr case both sizes and truthfully I like the SKB TSA the best, it feels the tuffest and it can take flights. also, if you gig you can fit more gear than with the huge rectangle case.
