More over, the Gibson LP is an established and iconic commodity, considerably more so than Jackson. The fact that Jackson is offering an LP shaped version is both kinda pathetic IMO and, understandably, not as well received.

In response to the 100 dollar cheap shit with which Jackson is watering down the brand, Gibson has had their own scams going- new innovations like the robotuner (Min ETune) offered on their already overpriced lines, the countless reintroductions, anniversary and limited edition models and so-called Custom Shop which is not really custom in the sense that you can order it.

Bottom line, both Jackson (via FMIC) and Gibson are "guilty" of trying to make a buck in their own respective manner. It is a matter of opinion as to whether the method they choose to make that buck is reprehensible or not.
I think the Gibson looked great even though I hate gold hardware. Yeah, I'm aware of Gibson quality issues, which is why I'd never actually buy one. As for the Jackson, I know what to expect out of the quality, but that goldtop doesn't look all that pleasing for a $4k guitar.

Personally I like the BC Rich, even though it's a bolt on, but if I were to get an LP, I wouldn't go to Gibson or Jackson. ESP pricing has gotten way out of hand lately.

You were giving me honest opinion and weren't trying to bait me.

I'm fine being called an asshole, idiot or jerk. I don't like veiled insults. I don't like the passive aggressive bullshit that a spiteful girl would pull.

If you want a really nice, high quality Les Paul style guitar that is not a Gibson for cheap money, this is the way to go:

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the body proportions... I think the Carvin is sexy as hell though.

                    Don't like the headstock though.

Also the fact that he has a custom Kelly on tour right now makes me hopeful. I'd love it if it had a 20" fretboard just like his PRS.
his prs has a 20" radius fretboard? i thought it was the standard radius of 10" like all other prs guitars...?

I don't think the headstock is all that great, but I think it's way better than a Jackson pointy on the body. They just posted this on FB:
