  • 22-fret Jackson necks that will fit/intonate with Charvel Model 1 body/pocket?

I'm considering buying a compatible neck to bolt on to a Charvel Model 1 body.

Obvious choices from Charvel include necks from Model 1/2/3/4 and the Pro-Mod Series.

I'm also considering a Jackson neck if it will fit in the Model 1 neck pocket and intonate correctly. Will any of the 22 fret Rhoads (RR3, Rhoads EX, RX10D) necks work without modification? Are there any other maybe-easily-available 22-fret Jackson necks?

I'm perfectly aware that I wouldn't be clamping the locknut on any of the necks that might come equipped with a locking nut. Or I suppose I could replace the locknut with an "ebanol" nut: https://www.google.ca/search?newwind...KzFcnlerLEjqAO

A 22 fret 25.5 scale neck of most any type will intonate. filling of original screw holes may be needed. but 22 fret Jackson necks should bolt right on.

Any real Charvel or Jackson 22 fret necks necks you find will fit, with the noted exceptions of those which had no neck plate, such as the JJ. These typically used threaded inserts.

I think I just answered my own question.

This Jackson RR3 neck (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2006-Jackson-...8AAOSwOyJX4u~Y) is listed with a heel width of 2.224" (almost 2 1/4 inch).

This Charvel Model 2 neck (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Vintage-80s-C...wAAOSwgmJXyuLG) is listed with a heel width of 2.1875" (2 3/16 inch) which is standard Fender width.

For simplicity and problem-free installation, I will probably stick to Charvel Model 1/2/3/4 necks, given their "instant compatibility" with my Model 1. As an added bonus, they seem to be more affordable than the alternatives I was considering, such as Charvel Pro-Mod necks and aftermarket necks from Musikraft.
