  • Can someone please help identify this guitar?

This is my first post here. Sorry if I'm doing this wrong.
I'm trying to identify what type of guitar I have. I bought it second hand about 20 years ago.

The owner of a music store tells me it is a 89 Soloist. A whole seller tells me it is either a Jackson Strat or a Vintage Style.

You need to host the pics on a photosharing site and post the link here..
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Yes, a pic would be most helpful. 'Professional' logo on the headstock or Made in USA? Serial?

Soloists are neck thru body and serials on a 20+ year old Soloist should be stamped on the fret board at the last fret.
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

          80's Strat. Cool colour, too.

              1989 sounds about right. http://www.jacksonguitars.com/support/serial-numbers/

Locking nut pads are installed 90° incorrectly.

I've never seen a reverse headstock and though "I wish that was a standard," (except on a Kelly) but I've sure thought the opposite many times. Using that logic, for me, perfection is a reverse headstock. That said, this is a really cool Strat regardless.

Not that it matters all that much , but I think that might be earlier than an 89, my strat SN is 4393 , it also has the factory installed floyd , the guy I bought it from claims he got it late 86 early 87 which seems about right as it has the 3 o'clock tuners.

I was thinking 87, not 89. I base that on serial, even though the serials were not always in order during those few years.
                          Certainly not an 86.

I can live without the headstock being color matched, even though I prefer that it was. But it's gotsta be reverse.
