  • Couldn't they make something to cover up the truss wheel thingy?

The truss rod wheel at the bottom of the newer charvels kinda take away from the looks a little. Couldnt they make a matching maple or rosewood cap that could snap on and make that area less noticeable? Or is this a ridiculous idea?

For me it's part of the trade-off for being able to make SUPER fast neck adjustments. The benefit far outweighs the appearance, IMO.
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

I think it's a beautiful sight on a guitar because it proudly advertises the fact that it doesn't have a heel truss adjustment.

I think truss covers are stupid, especially on the more expensive guitars. Take a Custom Select or Masterbuild that costs $3000-$5000... DRILL A FREAKING HOLE in a guitar that costs thousands to attach a cheap 10 CENT piece of plastic. Makes literally no sense to me.

I wish mine had the adjustment on the body end.

How do you feel about control cavity covers and tremolo cavity covers?

To me, all these things that obscure the "guts" of the guitar help to complete the look.

The wheel is the real deal! No guitar should be built without it!

Look at his strat head build for the answer to that.
Arguably the only cover you really "need" is the control cavity.
Other covers are more subjective, kind of like pickup rings, body profile, control/jack locations, etc.

And let's be honest, we all probably have seen control and trem covers in the same wood/finish as the guitar itself

Wonder how that little cover keeps in place...magnet?

I removed my truss covers and coloured the bare wood to match the headstock, black. I only like the look when the bare wood is colour matched.
I removed it because of convenience, I'd have left it on and been happy if not for frequent tweaking...oddly, but usually on my quarter sawn USA neck. The flat sawn MIJ rarely twitches. :dunno:
