On the DX2 neck I will keep the lJackson lock nut
but on the other one, there is no lock nut anymore. I will carefully take measures and start search on Ebay or elsewhere to find the lock nut adapted

Is there an officla wiring diagram or a schema explaining how to proceed for soldering pots, switches and pickups on this lady ?

The following wiring diagram would be ok expect I don't know if it's a 5 or a 3 way switch. Any thoughts ? ^^

Looks cool. But why is it still right handed?

Nope. For both of them. And one day I will order a custom Jackson for Lefty to really enjoy a master class build by Jackson

I will place a left handed tremolo (fixed by my luthier) and place the nut for lefty. All settings with be also checked by my luthier.I will add a picture of my current Kelly left handed with a 'fixed' Tremolo quite interesting !

Any chance a neck plate and serial number came with the KV3 stamped 2000?
                  96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Thanks. I'll add that to my list of those numbers that have also been confirmed by their date stamps.
Those 96, 97 and 98xxxxx serials ran in sequence from the '90s-2011 and there's no data base anywhere for people to date their numbers. So, I and a couple others have compiled our own list to help people date their guitars.

Fender only keeps records from 2002-present, but even then people often get incorrect info or no reply from Fender.

Yes I learnt that when I contacted the Jackson customer support about 2 months ago.
I was suspicious and very curious about learning more about my Kelly's history.
I can give you the serial number too it's : 702136

                        Done !

That's a 1997 Japan bolt on serial, but the exact model can't be ID'd with a serial. I expect; KE4- chrome hardware, dot inlays, or, KE3-black hardware, reverse sharkfin inlays, or, KE3R reverse headstock, sharkfin inlays.

That number format is date coded which makes it easy. There are many format from over the years...some date coded, some not.

I know this lady is old, and had at least two owner before me and it's a 'custom' order...since for lefty, we have nada, nothing, rien for Kelly shape :'( (as far as I'm aware)
I would prefer not dismantling the guitar since it has been checked recently. Next time I have to do maintenance on it I will ask to remove the neck and take pictures... If I'm lucky I will be able to give you extra information.

No need to check the pocket for date stamps, it's a '97. Sometimes, those older '90s models don't have useful stamps, but some do.

I don't think there's ever been an option to 'custom' order an import except for the 2000's Japanese market STARS models. They had a custom program. Unless, you're a dealer and order a substantial number of exclusive models.

Left handed models were available for many models, just not every model, and not every year. Once we know the model we can check to see if there were other lefties of that model online and/or in the catalogues/pricelists.

I missed the pic you posted. A painted neck? How about a pic of the front of the guitar, top to bottom.
