I tried to post earlier but I am not sure it worked.
Maybe it's still because I am a newbie on this forum.

In case it doubles information I'll delete this message

Here's the Platinum KV4 showing the colour.

        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

This KV4 model is a recent or old one ?
By this I mean, from :

          -1990 up to 1995
          -1995 up to 2000
          -2000 up to 2005
          -2005 up to 2010
          -2010 up to 2015
          -2015 and more recent ?

In the King V family it's a starter model, mid range or above ?

That platinum isn't really a flake finish like the OP's though is it?

The good news for the OP is it is some sort of cool/rare body.

The bad news for the OP is we can not abide by butchering it into a lefty now.

The KV4 was made in 2001. I think it was just for that one year. It's a midrange, neck-thru model made in Japan.

                Thanks Toejam

But mine seems to be a bolt-on model, not a neck-thru.
There are 4 drilled holes (plus the button strap hole) at the back of the body.

                  Yes, yours is a bolt-on, that's why we're thinking it's a KV3.

Was there a KVR? I'm all for it considering the stamps, just hadn't heard of one. Dealer exclusive or overseas models are always a possibility.

                      My guess is no.
I'm still leaning towards the Snow White Pearl KV3. SWP is listed as an option for the KV3, but it's only referred to as a USA finish in he catalogue. Probably just forgot to say it's also an import finish. We know about the many errors in those catalogues. I really don't know why I posted the KV4 pic.

The '98 catalogue appears to show the KV3 in the SWP finish, but it's a crappy picture.

Best thing is the scale can be determined without the neck. I wasn't sure in the beginning.

His KV3 body looks like silver, not snow white pearl. I thought the KV3 was available with that color, also, but I just looked at the catalog and didn't see it available. Maybe someone refinished it.

I see. My first thought in the beginning was it was a refinish.

                            Hi there,

From what i have been told it comes from a Jackson factory tech but apparently it never received a neck or any hardware on it.
It was left in a box for ages.

                              Cool. Maybe it's a one-off KV3 in that color.

I never did research online before getting Jackson. Now I have created my account on this forum I had a look to the section about Ebay and fraud.
                                I hope that is not a copy or a B-stock :/
I will remain confident and in a couple of days I will take tons of pictures to try to find out what it is

                                Thanks for your patience.
