Here's another perspective:
You're told it's a parts guitar. You're told that it's a Floyd conversion, and that it's a factory route, and know it's not the original owner. YOU have plans to do a restoration, so the body is the key issue for you.
Why didn't you specifically ASK for a pic of the route with the trem off, before you made the deal? No offense, but just because someone is a member of this forum doesn't mean he/she is an expert. I am sure the seller would've complied.
Also, I can see that doesn't look like the rounded factory route. What if someone told a green apprentice to do it and he fukked up? Maybe it was bad enough that the only way to clean it up
was to square it off. The paint match
looks good, and unlike with new production, this is someone's existing guitar, so they aren't apt to just give him a new body. The guy says the records show that guitar in for a Floyd conversion. You can't say that in the history of Glendora no one ever fukked up a guitar.
If it were me, I'd have asked for a pic of the route with the trem off; that's just me though.
