I have been looking for a guitar with a functioning Sustainer pickup (fernandes, floyd rose, etc. don't care the make)
Finally found one... and it works like a friggin' chahm!!!!! (as we say on the East Coast)
I managed to find this picture to explain the function of the switches etc.
Like the other MIJ Charvel's and Jackson (and MI USA and Mexico as well for that matter), it plays great, sounds great, looks sexy as #($#($!
I'm kind of surprised Sustainer pickups (and the Ebow for that matter) never really caught on. I believe it's more than a gimmick. It's a useful tool to make interesting music.
Maybe it never really had the iconic guitarist to get people interested. I think Phil Collen is awesome, but he doesn't seem to have penetrated the culture of guitarist idolatry - like a Hendrix, SRV etc.
7 digit Serial that starts with "96"... I've tried to work my way through the various (and sometimes contradictory) Serial # deciphering threads.
Does this mean a 1996?
Anyway, great guitar.
