Right. They are talking about the DK-1, how it's spec'd, pups, how it came about.... and then pick the most oddball custom dinky ever that has less in common with a DK-1 than an SL1 would as the pic. Lots of confusion in Fender's ad dept the day that was thrown together.

I dunno, we're splitting hairs a little bit here. Here's another custom shop DK1, check the hang tag:

To to clarify a point I'm making too much of BUT..... the weirdness is going into a deep description of the "spec" of the off the shelf DK1 in text and pairing it up with a guitar that has none of the features in common with the description except (presumably) the Floyd and QS neck.

Fretboard, finish, pups, neck finishing, all different. As Paul Anka would say, some loose shit going on.

I'm kinda' on the fence about this one.
In my opinion the Dinky with the dots is a Custom Dinky. The DK1 model should be left as it's been for over 15 years.

On the other hand, I suppose as long as the base DK1 specs are there (fins/binding/ebony) it's fine to call it a CS DK1, but dots don't make a DK1 in my mind.
          96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
