There was a several months long bitchfest in the Charvel USA and Jackson USA subforums on ezboard... I don't remember what it directly was about... it included some drama about the JCF series guitars, fake Charvels and "in the know" people pushing them as real, and other personality conflicts. A bunch of people were banned, kicked or left to some USA Charvel forum that Tracy or Brett ran, I dunno whose it was, but Charvel people tired of iron fist JCF admin formed their own iron fist guitar forum. It was all really epic shit back then.

i don't remember how long Ive been a JCFer, but it WAS, THE C/J forum learned lots & met many nice guys from this place. Even had the chance to attend a NJ JCFer BBQ....& yeah i was the JackAss that brought BCRichs. there is a JCF FB page but even thats not what this used to be.

I was browsing some Facebook guitar groups and was reminded of a silly gripe. An OP will post their guitar or their question, and there's always at least one delinquent who posts an unsolicited, unrelated photo of their own guitar.

A combination of all! That's a peeve of mine, too.

Saw one guy post a USA Jackson Soloist, don't even remember if there was a question about it, then some moron posts a pic of his guitar in the same thread and says his is similar... it was an import Dinky, not a USA Soloist, and not even the same color, so how exactly was it similar? I just usually delete posts like that and figure they can post their own thread if they really want everyone else to see it.

I agree, the derailing poster should just start their own thread! It's just as easy, and it may get even MORE attention/likes/comments since it won't be buried in someone else's unrelated thread! Ughh, Facebook... the domain of socially inept morons...

It happens a lot with pet photo threads but I won't complain at the chance to see pics of animals of all kinds. I'd like to think all animals are beautiful and don't want to spoil the mood of a thread dedicated to sentient beings, but I can't always say the same thing about guitars/possessions as there can be some clunkers, and because they're non-sentient, they won't get their feelings hurt by negative vibes on Facebook.

Some of the JCF thread derailments have been epic and fun. But yeah the big honkin' pic of your shitty mid-range guitar is lame. If in doubt I usually just post a link.

there's a lack of reading & comprehension there too. Someone will ask for help identifying a guitar. There'll be the usual scattergun approach of throwing out ideas because respondents aren't sure either. Then a couple of people with a clue will post the model name. Others will corroborate and expand with more information. The guitar has been successfully identified. Onlookers have gained some education. We all move on. And then a couple of days later, some clown will ignore all previous conversation and post with authority a completely wrong answer.

I guess that would happen here too. People would call them on it and you'd get a "sorry, I didn't read the other posts/pages before responding"
