  • Model 4 pickup options....

I have a Model 4 that I gutted. I know what I'm going to use for the humbucker but no idea on the singles. I want a stratty sound as I play blues as well as metal. But I can't seem to find stratty sounding pups that will fit in the cavities. Any suggestions?

a comprehensive history of Jackson pickups to identify jackson pickups. This page will give information on vintage jackson pickups including info and ID about the Jackson J-80, the J-90C, the JE-1200 active circuit and many more jackson pickups made in the 1980s by Jackson Charvel

The Model 4 came with Jackson J-200 stacked single coils, but some JCFers prefer the sound of the Jackson J-100 single coils. Great demo video below.

EDIT: No wonder your question seemed familiar to me. https://www.jcfonline.com/threads/15...del-4-Question

You can order Dimarzio single coil pickups without tabs.

I put a Seymour Duncan H-S-S set out of an SL1 into mine with no modifications. I don't think the Classic Stacks had tabs

I ended up having Seymour Duncan build me a neck and middle SSL-1 in SSL-3 style casings. Should sound badass as those are great sounding single coils. I ordered a standard TB-4 for the bridge.

If you have the JT-6 trem you're going to want an SH-4.

Yes, the JT-6 is standard spacing, but whether the pickup is standard or trembucker/F-spacing is not that big of a deal, anyway.
