    I would pick a distortion over almost any of the pickups named in this post.

    Dimarzios are not good for me, and my guitars that have them will be getting new pickups soon. That dimarzio in my 650XL is the exception though.

    EMG's just dont sound good to me.

        I like the combination of JB in the neck and custom 5 in the bridge.You get a full tonal range of both pickups.The JB for your leads,and custom 5 for your low end crunch.If DiMarzios are your choice try super D in the neck and tone zone in the bridge.A very sweet combination too.
