Hey,i signed up yesterday and just got my confirmation email...so i made a post... [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]
Anyways,ive been looking in on getting a soloist...but i want a few questions answered,if anyone can answer them:

1.is it possible to get one in trans black?
2.is it possible to get one with just one neck EMG 81 pickup and nothing else for pickups?
and..
3.what about getting the LP Custom Inlays in it?

Seems like you're playing into the stereotype that Jacksons are only for metal. [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img]

It sounds like Dischord260 is looking to construct a Jackson Jazz guitar that is different than the current models that were designed with jazz in mind. (Jazz'r) More power to ya, but it's gonna be 'spensive Lucy...

Umm... I mainly meant that the EMG-81 is not suited for jazz, because it has too much output. But then again I'm biased by thinking that all jazz guitars are hollowbodies, which will have constant feedback if you put EMG-81's in them.

And EMG-81's sound like crap clean, especially in bridge position. [img]graemlins/poke.gif[/img]
Never tried one in the neck position though.

Maybe I'm wrong but I dont' see how that guitar is for jazz...not because of the shape but because of the EMG 81...

my little brother is using his Y2KV in his high school jazz band. with a zakk wylde EMG set in it now.

you can make it work just as good as any wussy pickup is for JAzz.

The neck position tonality lends itself well to Jazz. Most custom jazz guitars are constructed this way..

I'm speculating of course, but I've not pissed in anyone's cheerios over it. It's an interesting design. I'd definitely love for this guy to come back and give more detail.
