I'm a pretty progressive, open-minded guy in general, but the high-contrast bursts like the Northern Lights finish (pink to blue burst) are too extreme for me and seem to be a somewhat new trend in the 2010s that I don't see as anything beyond a "fad" (unlike classic, timeless, classy-looking bursts like sunburst or tobacco burst). Ibanez does these types of high-contrast bursts too.

The burl tops (Aqua Shok and Desert Sand) are also very Ibanez-like. I don't see burl tops being enduring finishes that stand the test of time either. However, the Carmel Burl (should it be spelled Caramel?) is more subtle and I do like that one.

I love the Deep Black and Deep Purple Metallic though, but I'm biased since I tend to gravitate towards simpler, "solid color" finishes.

Northern Lights is the only one I'm not a fan of. The rest range from not bad to awesome for me.
        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

I guess I'm at odds with most, I'm not a fan of natural finishes in most cases, bursts aren't really my thing either though I like most of these.

Solids & over the top 80s graphics are what I love.

            YES!

I have enough of burst on my Gibsons.

And I like the Northern Lights of all things

I don't like how the youtube says "Pro" all over the place. Makes me think these are imports. Are they?

This may sound weird, but IMHO the most interesting thing I’ve seen from NAMM so far is this...

Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

Looks pretty good to me! Lots of companies are doing the burl and crazy bursts. If that's what people want then they gotta do it. It may seem crazy, but weren't the 80s?

In the Jackson world, "Pro" and "Professional" have always denoted imports, specifically Jackson's highest-end imports, no matter what the era or country of manufacture.

Not a sig, but it's "inspired by" damn close.

Maybe it’s an Elliot Easton sig then

I was in on this one until I read Basswood... still might in in depending on what the price actually ends up being
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
