Where's the wares MZ?

I went to check out the USA Jacksons at the MZ and was surprised to only see eight new ones for sale.

What's going on there? Of the eight, only that SL2H-V looks like something they custom ordered. They usually have quite the spread as far as I recall.

IDK, but that blade switch position on the SL2 roasted mahogany is a total fail being so close to the volume knob.

I didn't even notice that, that is horrific. It's like the knobs were installed in the wrong location compared with the others.

It's too bad, because it's a beautiful guitar. I get how some people like a 5-way switch with two humbuckers and the volume knob moved out of the way, but Stevie Wonder must have been working at the factory that day.

The SL2H-V is the exact same guitar as my Soloist with the exception of the tuners. I did get mine from MZ this time last year. Seems they have a standard run of Custom Selects that they are ordering each year at NAMM.

Mine is a toggle. Mine is not the SL2 they have at the top of the page, rather the SL2H-V. It is a little further down the page. They had one similar to the SL2 they have posted now last year too with the blade but it was H-S-S and it did not have the funky volume knob positioning next to the blade.

Seems every year MZ does a Custom Select batch of 2 natural oiled roasted mahogany, a blue PHil Collen and some others.

I forgot to ask Tim when I spoke to him a couple of weeks ago. I suspect the length of time for delivery and the curtailing of MB orders has something to do with it though..

Yeah I wouldn't doubt all these downward trends are interrelated. They are still the largest J/C dealer in the world though, no?
