  • Would you trade a 750XL for custom Shop jake e lee?

I've been talking to someone on one of the Facebook groups about trading my white 750xl for his basically unplayed Charvel custom shop jake e lee model. It's the white pearl with lavender sparkle model. Would like your opinions.

Depends what you prefer, one is a short scale arched top mahogany body set neck with 2 hums and a floyd, while the other is 25.5" scale, ash body, bolt-on neck with HSS and a hardtail. $ wise, you'd be ahead with the Jake as the cheapest mint conditon white Jake with the custom shop hard case is $1997 with the July 4 15% off sale on Reverb.com

Actually, the solid color 750XLs are not mahogany. They're either basswood or alder, as a few members here have discovered when doing refins. The trans colors are mahogany. I'd take the Jake instead.

I'm having a real hard time with this one. Love the looks of the 750 but really dislike the top mounted floyd on an archtop guitar. Feels kind of strange to me.

Its definitely basswood. Very light for a 750XL

I actually prefer top-mounted Floyds, but I'd still go for the Jake.

I think I'm in agreement with you. I'm not in love with this 750 but I sure do love the way it looks. But I think the jake is probably better for me over all since I really dont use the bar...

It would depend on what I already had in my collection.

                Personally, I'd go Jake.
