• FENDER: Make String Thru and option already

This is for the Fender People:

String Thru/TOM should be an option like on the RR

RR1 and RR1T - same guitar, different bridges... GOOD!!

KE2 and KE2T
KV2 and KV2T Totally Different guitars...BAD!!

String Thru/Tunomatic should be an option on all USA Jacksons!

Make this topic stay on top so they will see it!
I know there are alot of people that want this.

Why get a string-thru when you can have a FLOYD?
If you don't like it, just block it
Or go to the CS

I can think of a lot of better things I'd rather see as options. Hardware color? Matching headstocks? Fretboard wood and inlays?

None of them are likely, though. With production guitars, they can't please all of the people all of the time. If you absolutely need a string-through that badly, just buy a different model that does offer it or go custom order.

You need to play the KV2T. I managed to get my hands on a couple of them over the weekend and was VERY impressed.

You have to remember, Jackson isn't Carvin. The USA Select series is a low-end version of the custom shop guitars that made Jackson's name in the first place. They're not for options, they're for guys that want Jackson USA quality at a lower price. If you want options, get a custom. Customs are still cheaper than most other manufacturers high-end PRODUCTION bolt-ons (Helloooooooo, ESP).

Hardware color and Matching headstocks would be nice options too!!

I'm not saying the KV2T and KE2T are ugly or bad guitar at all, I just think the standard models should be availible in String thru also.

And with a Custom shop isn't there like a year long wait
anyone know the ballpark price on a Custom String Thru KE2

Re: FENDER: Make String Thru and option already

I've got two Professional string-thru Dinky models... they're the Dinky HX, only about 100 made in 1994.

Also, if you're interested in Carvin, they just recently started doing string-thru TOM bridges that are recessed down into the body more. They always used a hardtail or TOM/stoptail, but since a lot of people on their board have requested the string-thru/TOM after awhile, they decided to do it! Pretty cool if you ask me. It would be cool if Jackson did that on some more models.

Re: FENDER: Make String Thru and option already

With Fender as the backing company, things are different at Jackson now. They don't have to bend over and give GC everything they want when they want it anymore. When I worked there we had to drop everything to fill orders from GC and other large retailers, and that has stopped. Now orders are filled as they come in.

The result? Maximum wait time for a custom is now 120 days. Order a custom now and you'll have it in March. Not March 2005, either.

Hey BM what exactly do you mean by this? I'm puzzled cause I thought they were the same except for the fancy options or personal specs. I'm curious are you saying if I buy a soloist with say a maple fretboard instead of ebony the overall guitar will be THAT much better or will it be the exact same guitar with just a different wood on the fretboard. Thanks

Man....stating the USA Jacksons are low end.....low end compared to what? fancy art work? are you stating the wood is different? the floyd's are different? tell us why they are on the low end?

A poor choice of words, indeed.
