  • Tuning peg alignment

    Hi.

I have accidentally mixed up my tuning pegs, not knowing they have "R1", "R2" and "R3" engraved on them. I was cleaning the headstock on my RR5FR (Japanese model), and after re-installing the tuning pegs, I realised they were harder to turn when I was close to standard tuning. I suspect that I have put the tuning pegs in wrong order.

They come in 3 pieces of "R3", 1 piece of "R2" and 2 pieces of "R1". What's the correct order from low e to high e?

I'd appreciate it if anyone can help me out!

Unless the posts are different heights, I don't think it matters. If they're staggered heights, then the lowest set would go for the higher strings and the taller ones for the lower strings.

As far as being harder to turn, you can loosen the screw on top of it to give it less tension for turning.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Are they the original 'Jackson' logo'd tuners?
Interesting. I'd like to see a pic if possible....I don't recall hearing of those markings.

Is 'Jin Ho' or 'Japan' also on the tuners?
      96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
