No, that's a Korean serial.
MIJ was 96xxxxx.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.Comment

Korean Performers had a tendency to have much bigger/thicker necks than the typical thin Jackson profile.
I don't know if they were all like that, though.96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.Comment
