            IIRC the Performer series started off in Japan but was moved out shortly after.
            I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

                No, that's a Korean serial.
                MIJ was 96xxxxx.
                96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

                    Yeah, check it out.
                    Korean Performers had a tendency to have much bigger/thicker necks than the typical thin Jackson profile.
                    I don't know if they were all like that, though.
                    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

                      Local guy had a Performer Kelly (wide dots) that had a thinner neck, kinda like the H-S-S DK2 necks.
