  • Jackson Dinky Std Professional

I'm helping a buddy restore his Jackson. Changing pickups, blocking the trem, etc.

I'd really like to find a replacement pickguard but I'm not sure they exist. I haven't been able to find one that fits, nothing in the aftermarket for this model, and the techs in my area all way over $100 to make a new one from scratch.

Has anyone come across this model before, or happen to have a resource where I might find some original parts?

    Thanks!

Parts: https://fretsonthenet.com/ While you're at it, maybe contact the owner of that site to see what he would charge to make you a pickguard.

I remember back in the 2000s I bought my buddy a Dinky Std. in red. There aren't too many 24-fret Dinky-bodied Jacksons that have pickguards that you could steal a pickguard from, and I'm almost certain the Dinky Std. was the only one that had a clear pickguard.

If I had one of these guitars and I couldn't source a pickguard, I might be tempted to forego the pickguard, plug the screw holes with wood filler, sand flush, and color-match and blend the repair with the existing finish by using drop-fill techniques (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTVScFJoe24) or by using GluBoost products (https://gluboost.com/).
