• Come On Jackson!!

Okay, right now I own an Ibanez hardtail and I love it. About the only two "makes" of guitars I like are Jackson and Ibanez because the necks ROCK! So that really limits what I buy. My gripe is that neither company makes a guitar with a H,S,H in a hardtail and IT SUCKS!!

Come on JACKSON! Why don't you beat Ibanez to the punch and kick their arse with a Dinky H,S,H hardtail!

Also I noticed that Jackson discontinued the DX6 model, do they plan on replacing it with another hardtail at Winter NAMM? PLEASE MAKE MORE HARDTAILS, not everybody wants the instability of a Tremolo!!!! How about a Kelly Hardtail while you're at it!!

*ahh I vented. I feel better now*

Let me first extend welcome to the board

Aside from ordering a Custom Shop...which would be expensive....it would be relatively cheap to have one routed to accept the H-S-H configuration

There's a few (but they're not H/S/H), like the Swee-Tone models, or the new SLS Soloist that have the actual hardtail bridges. Or the new SLS KV2T and the DKMGT have TOM/string-thru designs.

Or just get a Carvin if you really want H/S/H. They offer four different bridge types... Floyd and Wilkinson for your trems. The non-trem models are either string-thru body with TOM bridge (or TOM/stoptail depending on model), or the hardtail bridge.

I was really wanting the real-deal single coil but I might have to settle... or just wait until PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Jackson makes something like that in a hardtail or string-thru. lol

Jackson use to make them (very rare though). It
was called Dinky RVH made in 94-95. Dinky reverse
with string-thru. 24 fret with reverse sharkfins.
Hum-single hum p/u's. Super thin neck (speed neck?) I am thinking of selling or trading mine
let me know if you are interested.

Actually, now that I think about it, there was also the DK3 that's H/S/H, but it's got a Floyd. Pete (Twisteramps) was selling one in the Classified section.
I've got two Professional Dinky HX models that are string-thru, but they've got two humbuckers... maybe try to find one of those and route the middle pup out. There were only about 100 made and they are kind of hard to find, though.

Re: Come On Jackson!!

Those are good ideas. I hadn't thought of having one routed for the H,S,H config. I probably wouldn't do it though. Cos I suck. No just kidding. I tend not to do drastic modifications on my guitars. The only things I change out is the hardware and pups. I just have a lame mentality that what I buy shouldn't need any drastic changes. That's one reason why I just haven't bought an H,S,H with a trem and had the tremolo blocked. I can't stand the idea of having a big hole in the back where the tremolo is then filling it with wood. Besides those Ibanez tremolos look like cheese-graters. Their fugly. lol. And I'm not a fan of pickguards for the same reason... big hole up front. IMHO, the less drilling, routing and holes the better the tone because there's more wood. But that's just me.

Hey, thanks for the welcome LPC!

Toejam! Hi! Yeah the SLS and the KVT2 look like sweet guitars! They are the closest thing I've found to what I like. The DKMGT looks good too but I'm not digging the turbocharger knob. Last time I tried one I got some alien-feedback. lol It was quite scary.

Anyway I really wanted a H,S,H hardtail. The guitar I have now has a 5-way switch and coil tapping and it's really got me hooked on the single coil sound. BUT I also use both humbuckers a lot. So... I'm screwed to find a H,S,H with a hardtail. lol

I was just hoping that MAYBE Jackson had something in the works for Winter NAMM. *dreams*

Actually... does Jackson make a H,S,S in a hardtail. A soloist perhaps?
