• Who's In & Who's Out

Now since the ordering is closed for the 25th Anniv Charvel. Who is in and out and why???
Does anyone know if they have started production.
Have the issues been addressed that were talked about here and CC like the saddles and the dot markers... and have any final numbers been given as to how many will be made.....

I'm out,

My order was thru OSG and lost when he lost his dealership. I never bothered to reorder
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

Re: Who\'s In & Who\'s Out

i was never in i dunno, the guitar as a whole didn't appeal to me (not a cherry burst guy). i think it's cool as hell that we're getting the opportunity to have them again, i just hope that there's a cool strathead production model with the old style vintage trems and hardtails.

but if it doesn't happen, i'm not gonna end it all...

I'm out. For that kind of money I want a some sort of graphic. Plus I'm holding out to see if the strat heads will go into production or special order through the custom shop.

I'm out.. ..errr.. ...never was in.

A cool guitar, but I'm holding out hope to custom order a strathead. Hoping this will be permitted after NAMM, but I'm thinking the chances are slim and none. Besides, the one hum vintage trem specs weren't to my preferences.

I was never in and now that is a good thing. Too pricey and overhyped to me. I never thought that the mystique and vibe of the original could be recreated anyway.

Re: Who\'s In & Who\'s Out

Man Oh Man I feel like an out cast because I'm in.
We will all have to see if they will do more StratHeads, but if there is a low responce with this run at it like I think it is. I'd doubt if they will do another one.
I personally like the flame top over a graphic.
Graphics can go out of style very quick and back in just as fast, then out again.
I had a bloody grapic HAMER 1987 that i could not unload to save my life. It was truly a fantastic guitar in mint shape. Trade in value was aweful due to the graphic, but a hamer collector wound up buying it and for more then I thought it was worth.
But I think flame tops are more in then out generally.

I was never in,I'm lucky enough to have some original stratheads & would play them before I'd play the 25th so I just couldn't see spending the $$!! Also,I'm with Sully on this one, I'm just not into the sunburst!! Chucksplatter

I was never in. I must have a OFR. But I did like the finsh.I think it will sell well in the collecters market. I thinl alot of people will buy it, just to resell it 5-10 years down the road.

Re: Who\'s In & Who\'s Out

I was almost in and then I realized that I was going spend a whole load of money to buy the idea. With the mods i would have done, it would be a different guitar, so I'll wait and see. I think that Fender is going to play games and taunt us for a while as they think that if we want a custom Str@t head, we should just contact Fender's custom shop and order one. They just do not get it, nor do they really care. I personally believe that the whole test the water concept is a scam ....If they sell a bunch, they will say to themselves "Hey, we were right, we know what people want, so lets do another run of "limited" guitars. If they don't sell hardly any(which I think to be the case), then they will say, "See, no one wants a Str@t head Charvel Anyway". It seems to me they can justify where they want to end up either way and I think we are being played.

I hope that I am wrong (and yes, I am one of those guys who sent an email to Jackson asking very nicely about ordering a custom Str@t head - I got a cute response alluding to NAMM without commiting either way).

I was never in.....it just didn't do anything for me

For that kind of money, I could possibly find an original and restore it or damn near pay for a custom shop Jackson/Charvel and get an OFR to boot

I'm not dissing anybody who does get one though...great for you.

Too much $$$$ for that guitar. I'd rather wait and see what other Stratheads will be produced.

Yeah, I thought it was kind of a cool concept.... not $4,000 dollars cool, not even "discounted price" cool. I wouldn't mind having one but I'll pass on this go-around.
