<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, you may be right. But I hope not. Hopefully the brass will be smart enough to understand that a single no-options limited run is not necessarily an accurate gauge of the demand for new Charvel stratheads in general, nor the abilty to custom order them in particlar.

Actually, the manner in which they brought stratheads back was a little disappointing to me. But I understand the appeal and logic of wanting to "test the waters" first, if you will. Not to mention the allure of a high-bucks run. (That's not meant as a criticism. ...They are in business to make profits, after all.) So I'm holding out hope that more will come soon, inc. custom orders. But if they don't offer custom orders with the next NAMM show, I will be doubly disappointed. First (and obviously), because I personally want to do a custom strathead order. More importantly, though, that would be a bad indication that Fender may not entirely respect J/C's history and foundation. i.e., Jackson / Charvel was built upon the concept of a custom shop that can fullfill a guitarist's every want, need, and fantasy. IMHO, it will be disingenuous for Fender to claim they respect this foundation - which is the bedrock of J/C's history - ,want to continue it, and yet NOT allow the custom shop to offer something that would otherwise be permitted on one - or several - "special edition" type runs.

I'm still cautiously optimistic in general, though. And I probably whine about the strathead thing too much, anyway. ...Maybe I'll have to "end it all", like Sully said.

I was never in. I want to get a white strathead that is identical to my black one... well, except for the color part.

I'm in... two times over. Of course, I'm a dealer but after reading these I'm wondering if I made the right choice. As far as I know there were under 50 orders taken. In any event I'll be getting them in if anyone is interested in owning one.

                  Re: Who\'s In &amp; Who\'s Out

I know how many a couple of dealers are going to move. Not huge numbers, but I think when you consider what it is, who it's aimed at, and the kind of money you're talking... they'll do good enough. Anyone from Jackson that's reading this thread will notice about half a dozen people already that have said they'd like stratheads to be a custom option. I think it will happen, it seems like a slam-dunk no-brainer. Then again, I could be wrong.
