Re: Have you seen the Floyd Rose Speedloader?
I saw that at the NAMM show last year. It uses special strings that fit into the nut and the bridge. As soon as you lock the string into the bridge it's supposed to be pretty close to in tune. Looks a little strange though because it renders the tuners on the headstock useless. Hence the reason there are non on the guitar in the pics. I bet it stays in tune really well.

Re: Have you seen the Floyd Rose Speedloader?
If the strings are not on the headstock, I see no reason for it.
Granted it's a cool idea, but why re-invent the wheel.
The Floyd had been around for close to 20 years and has been copied by just about everyone because (in my opinion) It's perfect as is.
If Floyds give people that much trouble they need to stay away from them.
It's kinda like a Unicycle. If you can't make it work, stay off of it.

You don't need the points of the cutaways either, why not just saw the guitar body into a small 000 acoustic shape?
The Floyd is great the way it is. This is just another design with some benefits (quick string changes). I don't see it as a replacement, but an alternative.

Re: Have you seen the Floyd Rose Speedloader?
A naked headstock looks like ass - especially a Jackson headstock.
Convenience at the expense of cosmetics? No thanks.
Of course, I'd get one put on a guitar that had a broken headstock, then rig the headstock to fall off with a little hidden spring-loaded gizmo just to watch people freak out when the head falls off but the guitar stays in tune
Or have Budman make a dummy headstock out of foam rubber and smash it into a wall while playing, then turn to someone and say "I bet your Ibanez can't do THAT!"

Re: Have you seen the Floyd Rose Speedloader?
We just got in a Rich Beast with the speedloader. And it just doent look done. Like they forgot something at the factory. Yeah it's new and something different. And with the adjustment to get the string to tension and the ease of changing a string, (not that I ever had a problem with it b4); it seems like a cool idea I as a novelty thing. But as for me I need the friggin tuners. It does make a differance in the tension and the feel of things. Plus the tone seems thinner and pronounced. Maybe it's just a not wanting to change the way of thinking but I'm not crazy about it.

P.S. If this post sounds out of wack (even for me) it's due to me being sick. I feel like death warmed over. Oh and Icky too.
