Re: Looks like Fender has learned from Charvel

pure ignorance? So Fender had a rear loaded, Floyd Rosed super strat before Charvel did? Charvel might have adapted & improved Fender's original idea, but that doesn't mean that Fender isn't ripping off those improvements now.

Does anybody remember the Heavy Metal Strats?
Hello Mcfly. Is this thing on?
Fender was doing this rear rout long before the buyout. They were once trying to compete with J/C and BC Rich Etc, for thier versions of the strat coined the Super Strat.
Plus they've done it recently too. They've been doing it since the 80's but just not to the extent of the traditional strat styling with the
pickguard and top routs.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Fender did NOT invent the Strathead. The Strathead was already invented for acoustic guitars in 1825 by Johann Georg Stauffer in Austria. His employee C.F. Martin emigrated in 1833 to USA and used this headstock also. In 1947, Bigsby built a guitar with this headstcok.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You are right about the trem design and the rear control cavity route and I agree that those were major improvements over the strats. I was referring to the body and headstock shapes which WERE copied by Charvel. I remember reading an interview with Wayne where they asked him what the best guitar in the world was and he said "The Fender Stratocaster". The strat was his inspiration for his original guitars and yes he did improve on them greatly! Thank God!!!

Uggg... guitars without pickguards should not have the input jacks on their bodies!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That's the hole for the string tree for the E and B strings. Not sure if it's taken off in that pic or the lighting just doesn't show it well.

Bro...
I think he means it should be at the side of the body...not the top, like the fender does.

Yup. Those Jake E Lee strats sure are ugly because of that jack on the face!

That's one of my favorite features about strats. The face mounted jack means you can sit back on a bed and play without having to worry about the jack. I know, get a cord with an angled jack, but that's no fun, and make my meaningless post have even less merit.
