Re: jcf 02 questions thread

This is simple .. there will be people that want 02 and to remain in the series.. It is not fair to those people to allow you guys to opt in then hold the number for a year when there are people truly interested in this series and having matching numbers.

Now with that said ... And I'm not trying to be a tool here ...

The rules are the rules .. bitching about them wont change them and it will just create more havoc in the long run. These rules were in place since JCF-01 .. .Those guys from the start were guaranteed their slots for the life of the series .. end of story .. sorry if you guys don't agree with them, but they aren't going to change now. If your interested in getting in on the series and honoring the rules then please ask what you need to know to make an educated decision and we will answer everything we can honestly, as much as can .....

P.S By opting in as a new member and skipping this year, you will not help the series you will kill it as this year will need to be a success before we can even consider an 03 .....

Great choice BTW!!! I don't think that Robbin would have given a rats ass if he was still around but it still is a great tribute to a diehard Jackson player who helped put the Jackson name in the mainstream of metal.

I would just like to say.
IF you don't like the idea then just move on. I think it is a great way to show tribute to a GREAT guitar player and a GREAT company!!!

thank you

Thanks to all of you who've put in the hard work to bring the series back. Unfortunately I wasn't around for the first JCF but I sincerely hope I'll be around for this one and any others that might follow. With that in mind, can you elaborate on the process for determining which of the interested parties will get a number?

Is there any chance of the back plates being laminated or clearcoated at the factory to keep Robbin's signature intact?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Easy, Kev. My post was not intended to start a ***** -fest, nor be confrontational. Just humbly asking y'all to consider an alternative that might help the series. And that's all. Especially since this particular issue was not made clear early on and seemed - as far as I know and remember - to not have even been seriously discussed with JCF 01. (...Admittedly, though, I didn't see anything discussed in the 01 buyers' forum. So maybe it talked about was in there?) And, no, I don't think you're being a tool. ...Come on, bud, do you really think I'd intentionally try to start a "pot stirring" like that? I'll gracefully bow out before doing anything of that nature.

As to not helping the series, but helping kill it, I sure disagree. You're making an assumption that you will get enough good / stable new candidates to fill all of the open slots. Maybe you will. If so, great. I'll bow and take my chances next year. But, then again, maybe you won't. And, if not, it might be best to consider changing the rules for others like myself who WILL do everything they can to ensure the long-term stability of the series.

I'll shut up now and go stand in the corner.

Shreddermon what good will it do us if we get people to fill all of the slots who passed on this year? We won't have enough to take the current guitar being offered and then the deal goes south, killing the entire series...

funny story about the big red/jcf 02 thing...when we asked robbin if he was interested, the first thing he said was "fuck jackson! i'm sick of selling guitars for them!" when he learned that they were presold, and all to people who gave a damn about him, he was very impressed and committed to it.

Re: jcf 02 questions thread

wow, long post...

shred, i understand your point, but we have to have all models pre sold before this can be a success... so, just like with 01, those reserving a number would need to do so and take delivery of the guitar.

if we had 10 buyers, and 20 unfilled opt-outs, it doesn't help, either. i think i know what you're saying, though, and that's to go ahead and fill all of the numbers, and essentially sublet a number. we didn't do that with 01 b/c we had 25 people with cash in hand, and that was the beginning series.

anyway, i know what you're saying, but at this time, we can't necessarily accomodate those that want in but want to opt out at this time. there's nothin wrong with wanting to do that, i hope we're not sounding to the contrary...

anyway, our next question comes from the man in the....hot pink tuxedo?

shreddermon - I am in the same boat as you...I would like to get in on the JCF series action, but I'm not interested in big red. My expectations are that there will be a certain percentage of slots opening up every year and I'll try to join then if the model is more to my liking. Someone's bound to lose it all in the stock market or have their wife take everything they've got in a year's time. I would definitely expect that if the series is successful, even if I couldn't get a permamnent slot in the future, that I'd be able to get a passed over one.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Admittedly, none. I had already conceeded that. Again, though... "You're making an assumption that you will get enough good / stable new candidates to fill all of the open slots."

Guys, seriously. I'm not trying to be a bad guy, but you sure seem to be painting me like that. I am trying to present a helpful alternative if, by chance, things don't turn out like you originally hope.

Please try and keep an open mind. Both about what I'm suggesting AND how you're misconstruing my intentions. That's led the tone of this discussion to a place nowhere near what I had intended. Maybe even hurting the effort at this point. So, for real this time, I'm shutting up for the good of the series. ...Geesh, sorry I even brought it up again.

hey pat, it's all cool.... i'd say that our focus is to get these guitars in the hands of people, and filling the open slots permanently. once that's done, we'll move to the opted slots, and if we still don't have all 30 placed (which i'm pretty doubtful at this time), something like what you've suggested could be considered. honestly, i'd look at it as a last ditch effort, but it's not the most insane idea i've ever heard.

And as for JGCable's post about the "general price range" - I believe this was stated in the other thread - the price should fall somewhere within the range of USA Select pricing, which (currently) runs from roughly $1000 to $2000. It cannot be narrowed down further than that, as someone's gonna get in trouble for it (dealer, us, Jackson, etc).

I'm not getting all upset at you .. I did in fact post.. "Not to come across as a tool" which wasn't quoted .... I'm simply stating my point of view and it wasn't intended as a slugfest ..You have to understand too .. your 1 person giving us your point of view VS my being 1 person taking everyone elses point of view. make sense? ...
