Re: I predict more classifieds!!

I guess I will be buying a blow out sale guitar.

Ah, I guess it is better, I would probably get the Robbin, and never play it.

Maybe I'll score some super sweet prices around here...Just hold off till tax time guys.

Ah yes, 1001 - I thought that looked odd when I first posted "0001" - but that would be the first non-Rhoads bolt-on Jackson, right? Anyone know what it was?

Thanks Shreddermon.....never seen that one before. Not a beer drinker so it is not my first pick but it's a CHarvel and that is cool in my book. I dig the green...cool!

ding away, gents. It just wouldn't be one of Robbin's guitars if it didn't have a few love taps. Can you imagine any of his battle weary road beasts in pristine condition? Just wouldn't look right.

maybe the dynamic of the forum has changed in the last couple of years, but I remember a lot of interest in replicating one of Robbin's Firebirds back during initial discussions about JCF-YCE. But then, Curt & Rob were still regulars back then.

Of course, if it's strat shapes yer after, Warren had so many cool ones to pick from - the Bomber, Rising Sun, that black-and-gold Egyptian, Crossed Swords. Or maybe one of Amir's Warbirds.

I don't see the Lynch Bengal as a must-have. I mean, you can still get US Select bengals. It's not radically different from the production models. JCF-01 was the missing NAMM guitar. Nothing like Big Red is currently in production. I think the guitar needs to be different enough from what's generally available to warrant the JCF name plate.

While we're at it, can we rename 02 the Dave Linsk model and have him sign the plates instead? I mean, sure he wasn't in the spotlight one tenth as much as Robbin, but he had the idea first, so we gotta call it the Overkill V, right?

Woah there!
I didn't mean to deliberately sh*t in anyone's cereal! It was just a light-hearted attempt to get recognition for what was the first "Charvel" branded guitar that I was ever made aware of. (In a copy of "Kerrang", back in the Late Cretaceous period)
I also reckon it is a pretty cool shape...

Yeah it was harsh, but those are two things I get tired of seeing - the "Vic Vergat V" - just WHO in the fuck is Vic Vergat?
And "the Dave Linsk Double Rhoads" - now, I'll concede that Overkill had as much if not more of an influence on music than RATT, and in fact last I heard they were still out there kicking it out and doing a damn good job of it, but honestly, let's not throw shit on Vinnie Vincent or Robbin Crosby by nitpicking about who came up with the idea first.
No matter how much someone may like Vergat or Linsk over Crosby or Vincent, that cannot change the fact that the "official" designation for each model is directly tied to Vinnie Vincent and Robbin "King" (as in "KING V") Crosby.

i'm with ya on the linsk vs crosby thing, but the vic vergat v isn't anything like vinnie's v... it's closer to a king v, and very much like j0001, the white pointy v that was made for kk downing, but never picked up.

Another idea, how about a vintage Soloist for JCF03? I would suggest the Jeff Beck guitar (heck we could even have the factory carve the words "Tina Turner" into the back...), but I doubt many here would want a Kahler, or a pink guitar, for that matter.

How about simply a more accurate reproduction of an SD Soloist than the Shannon was? In other words--three toggles, Non-logo Duncan pickups, black original Floyd, small control cavity, locknut screwed in from the bottom, and 'Made in USA' below the logo, etc. I know that this isn't identified with a specific artist, but Soloists, in general don't seem to be, the way the V guitars and the old Charvels were.

actually the pink tina turner soloist is something i was thinkin of yesterday. and i'd have her name carved on the face, just like the original... i think that it was 3 singles, though, wasn't it?
