• unbelievable story - a must read

On April 11, 2003 I ordered and payed for a Jacskon lefty SL2H with ltg sky graphics.

This is the Email I receive on April 15th.

"The order for your jackson has been placed. We are
looking at roughly 60 days on your order. I'm in contact
with our representatives from JACKSON almost daily and I
will remind him at least once a week regarding your
guitar. I'm pretty good at lighting fires in these
matters."

I'm going to make a long long story short.

In mid October I had to get the Jackson rep involved. Because I couldnt get anything from this distributor on delivery. The Jackson Rep. was cool and, he was imbarrassed that this guitar still wasn't done. He did alot of work and got it built for me fast.

On Nov 21 (7 months later) I finally got the E-mail I wanted. It read:

"Jim,

It looks like the guitar is heading out today! I wanted to have it sent
direct to me, but the timing isn't going to work. I am not in town, and
won't be for a couple weeks, so it will have to ship through XXXXXX
XXXXXXXX after all. Let me know when it gets to you. Congratulations!!!"

Because the Jackson rep lives fairly close to me he was going to have the guitar shipped to him directly and the bring it to me. But he was in So Cal at the time and it would have just made it longer for me to get it. So Jackson shipped it to the distributor, which is also in So Cal. On Monday, Nov 24th I called the distributor and they had my guitar, They told me it absolutly gorgeous. It was going to ship that day blue label and I'd have it wed, just b4 thanksgiving.

Heres the unbelievable part:
- Wed Nov 24th : guitar doesnt show up.
I call them, and they say wait till friday (thursday was a holiday)
- Friday nov 26th: guitar doesnt show up.
I call them, they say wait till Monday.
- Mon. Dec. 1st: guitar still doesnt show up
Now I'm getting irritated so I ask for a tracking number. They say "we dont have one" so I told them to find one. I could tell the whole time they were beating around the bush.
- Tues. Dec 2nd: no guitar
I tell them to find me a tracking number, they say ok they call me back. So I call the Jackson rep and tell them. He calls the distributor and get the run-a-round just like me.
- Wed. Dec 3rd: no guitar
Now I'm passed irritated and have moved into a pissed stage. finally I get the truth. They tell me "we shipped the guitar to the wrong customer, its in Virginia" Wow they gave me a tracking number. On Thursday Dec 4th My guitar was delivered to Hurley Va.
- Mon. Dec 8th: I call them again and I want a tracking number so I can track the guitar back to me from Va. .... We start all over. They have no tracking number. This goes on all week. With them telling me each time they'll call me write back.
- Fri. Dec 12th. I start to get nasty with them, this time they tell me the guitar is still in Va. and they are trying to get the customer to send it back.

I'm going to stop there, because I'm so pissed just from writing this I'm shaking. Here I am 9 months later, 3+ weeks after it left Jackson and I'm still looking at more than a week out, and thats if this story has a happy ending. I left out so many details of run-a-round. I cant type anymore.

That totally sucks. Reading between the lines, I'd suspect your dealer has its head up its @ss. Did you order it through Musician's Friend / Guitar Center? They're notorious for this kind of crapola.

If I had ordered it through MF or Guitar center, I think I'd be jammin with it now.

I will reveal the name at a later date depending how this story ends.

Makovai,
OHhhh Man...Don't get me started. I went thru the same run-a-round with an SL1 a few months back. I bought it from some Dumbass Lic. internet Jackson dealer who didnt seem to know squat about guitars. He should have refused it when it came into his store. It was a brand new piece of crap!

I sent it to AMIC to have some warrantee work done on the Floyd...they didnt even look at what was wrong, instead, they replaced the first fret, and sent it to a location 5 states away. When I finally got it back, I sent it back to AMIC to have the correct repairs done. Two weeks later, AMIC fired a bunch of people including the only person who knew about my guitar. It was in "limbo" in the middle of the fender buyout. I seriously thought I would never see that guitar again. In the end, I got a new SL1 after being treated like SH!T, and paying for the guitar to be shipped 6 times! There is a lot more to the story (Makovai, I will email you with the details). I'm always seeing "Pre-Fender". IMHO, Jackson seems to be finally getting their SH!T together. They run a much tighter ship now. And, they got Mr. Shannon back....FINALLY!

Re: unbelievable story - a must read

Thanks for the sympathy guys.
After I wrote this story this morning my wife read it and she didnt know that the guitar was still in Va.
She asked me for all the e-mails and all the info I had on this.
She new that I'm so pissed I cant talk rashionaly with anyone about it anymore. She got on the phone and called the distributor I bought it from. She threated our lawyer will get involved in 1 week if the guitar isnt here. (she's serious too). After about an hour of talking she got the name and phone number of where the guitar was shipped too. she called him and he said He shipped it back to the distributor yesturday.
According to the distributor it went was a return that he set up and it went "red" so he should get it monday and he said it he would "red" it to me then. He guaranteed me I would have it no later than Wednesday.

Heres the kicker.... I was worried that my Jackson has been at strangers house for a week and he's been using it as a lamp post or something (not much most peeps can do with a lefty) The guy in Va. said he wanted to see it really bad, but theres no keys to the case, so he couldnt open it. So now I'll prolly have to wait 6 months for keys

I geuss it does make me feel better that the guy couldnt open my baby.

I could go on for ever with my feelings. (and My wife says I have no emotions, I think this is the first time I've cryed in front of her )

Anyway maybe this story will have a happy ending after all. Or maybe I'll just get a red label box full of fire wood.

who did you order it from? I think you should identify them so others don't make the same mistake. I'm sorry you had to go through all the BS. I would have been equally pissed and quite franlky not as patient as you were.
