What Jackson import is better overall, DXMG or DK-2?

I wanted to know if the DXMG is built just as good as the pro series? The fact that the DXMG used to be made in india and was part of the x-series gives me a bitter taste in my mouth. [img]graemlins/puke.gif[/img]

USED TO BE. It isn't anymore, and it's probably my second favorite bolt-on strat-style import with a trem. [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] It's still part of the X series, but X series production was moved to Japan. They're just as good as any other Japanese Jackson you can name.

The DXMG is not like the other "X" series guitars.

If you examine it closely, you'll see that it is built with pretty much the same components as the "Pro" series.

I love my DXMG, I have a DK-2 as well.

They are both top end imports. They play and feel so similar that they could be the same guitar in my opinion.

If I had to pick only one.. I'd chose the DXMG for 2 reasons. 1: Cosmetics - I like reverse headstocks and 2 hum guitars the most. 2: The most important reason.. EMG-Hz kicks ass.. years ahead of the Duncan Designs in the DK-2, and I think they sound better than regular Duncans(They are US made, as well)... at least in this guitar.

It also compares very well to my DK1.

I would buy a DXMG if it had a Regular Headstock, that is the only thing keeping me from one, I hope they offer it with that in the future [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Jack.

That one is easy, the DXMG has better pickups, a better Floyd and is cheaper.

The DXMG has the JT-500, the DKMG has the JT-580. I'd much rather have a JT-500 than one of those junky late-model JT-580's.

I've had a DK-2 for about 6 months and I'm completely thrilled with it...

I picked it over the DXMG because a> i don't like reverse headstocks [img]graemlins/evilimages/icons/tongue.gif[/img] and b> i got the HRF finish which looks super sweeet [img]graemlins/drool2.gif[/img]

I think you pretty much can't lose whichever way you go

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">no greg the newer dxmg's have the jt 580 lp trem on em now , mine has one anyway , the same trem as the new pro line as well , but my one complant is the new trem arms on the jt 580 lp look way cheap then the older [94 to 01 around] trem arms . but I am just picky [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] also I don't even use it cause I block mine down cause I just like the tuning system on it and the super low action //Steve
