Re: OSG - the true story?

The "official" word on the OSG saga was that Fender was whittling the Jackson dealer list in each region/state down. It's easier to manage that way, but then again, it does leave larger chain stores like Guitar Center with the lion's share of the market. It was also stated that these larger outlets can sell at $1 above their cost and still turn a profit (mostly from the overpriced Ibenhads), so that hurts small dealers like OSG who can't offer the same low price, but who can offer better customer service (which, on a well-made guitar, you would not really need customer service unless you screwed something up yourself on the guitar )

Plus I think there were a few newbies who dealt with OSG and then came in here blabbing about the ultra-low price they got, and that, of course, is as much against the MAP policy as if he had pasted the price on his website.

Not to sound like a broken record, but it really is in my best interest to neither confirm or deny anything.

Nothing Fender, Akai or anyone can do will ever tarnish the love I have for Jackson guitars. Old ones anyways.

It truly was heartbreaking to lose the line I love so much, but my love for the line was partly to blame for our parting of the ways. It is also heartbreaking to login here and not see my banner up top that I had grown a custom to. I am glad to see Kevin step up to the plate and take over. From what I have seen so far, between him and the other dealers in here, you guys are well taken care of.

From a business standpoint, it hurt too, but there are soooooo many other things to sell in this world, so I will be fine. Anyone want to buy a toaster ??

I am still here. You guys couldn't get rid of me if you tried.

        Matt

if i may ask, why did you take down the jackson archive? my guess would be on account of the bandwidth usage of it being not worth it since you aren't carrying them anymore. but i always liked browsing all the different finishes

Matt, why won't you just come out and admit that you were there in 1966 when Paul McCartney died and was replaced by William Sheppard?

                  I AM Paul McCartney.

I actually put the Archive back up for a bit so Tekky could snag some pics for the MOAIP. I will have to take it back down soon. It does take up alot of web space.
