• Recommend an SLSMG?

I love the looks and specs of this thing. Best of all, it has NO Floyd Rose. It looks like it might be my next guitar... then again, I have no money right now, so my next guitar is months and months away. But still, I'm always looking!

Has anyone played one? Did you like it?

You and I are pretty opposite in our view of trems. WORST of all is that it doesn't have a trem! This thing would be the best Jackson import if it only had a trem!

Kremit just won one on Ebay for dirt-cheap...

Look for his review and pictures when he receives it. I know I'll be looking forward to it!

      Oh, Christ, I want it.

Question - The Jackson website lists the available colors as being Satin Black and Violin Brown. Yet when I visit musiciansfriend.com, they have Flametop versions available in Trans Wine Red and Trans Black. What's up? The Flametop is even CHEAPER than the Satin and Violin. Check it out:

Jackson website. It says Satin Black and Violin Brown

Whoa!! What the heck? Those flametop ones even have body binding (purfling, I think it's formally called)!!!

And they have a real ESP sort of vibe to them, to me at least...

Could the flametops be a special run for MF? I´ve never seen them either.

Wow! I love those flametops! Looks like I have my next guitar planned out if those become actual finish options, those guitars look sweet!

What about the guitar itself, though? Any fans?

Never played an SLSMG, but assuming its of at least the same quality as the rest of the MG series, the guitar HAS to be killer, especially with the thin stealth-style body

I could be wrong, but I think Tristan Avakian was playing one on the east coast tour of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Of course, he's a really impressive guitarist, but that instrument sounded truly fine. I'm considering one for myself also.

Ben Moody of Evanescence uses one. He also uses a DKMG. Of course, I think he quit the band.

A question - Is the SLSMG a baritone model? In most pics, the neck looks really, really long.
