  • Help on year of Production CHARVEL

I bought a used Charvel, I think it's a model 375: it has bolt-on neck, Jackson licensed Floyd Rose, S-S-H pickup, natural color with 2 knobs (volume and tone) and a 5 position switch. The serial number is 260XXX (I don't remember last three digits). How can I go back to the year of production?
    Thanks,
    gigi

Post a pic thats the best way to get ID info.
Does it have a guitar shaped logo or the toothpaste logo? Does it have a pickguard or binding on the neck? Just a few questions to get the ball rolling.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

well, according to the serial I would say 1992, but TEKKY has to confirm that, because I had the idea those guitars were only made 'till '91...

That's a Model 3. (predecessor to the 375DLX) Years of production are 1986-1988. The 1986 models had the Kahler fulcrum tremolo and a pickguard, so that would make this one a 1987-1988.

Well, there's no finish on it. Being that it has a rosewood board, I don't think it looks bad. It's just not normally a wood that you would see nekkid. (basswood) The Model guitars are great guitars for the money. Being imports, they aren't major collectables, but they're certainly great players. As far as how much I'd pay for it, well, I'm not sure I'd pay more than 2-fiddy maybe tree tops*...

Model 3s are nice guitars. I've had a few over the years, and they are solid, workhorse guitars which is actually true of the bulk of the Model series guitars (the Charvels of that era).

As for worth, I'd say they usually go between $200 and $300. Sometimes they get a little more.

Well, I paid it 280 euros here in Italy! So that's the right price...
                  thanks,
