Re: Can I imort Jacksons?

not to mention most US sellers are not keen on shipping outside the US. The taxes and shipping do not bother me most: it is still cheap to import (for us). What pisses me off is the fact there are so many cheap USA Jacksons on the bay, but almost NONE of the motherf*ckers that sell are willing to ship to Europe.

just my litle frustration.

Re: Can I imort Jacksons?

Okay sorry for digging up this thread but I need to ask something, and I don't think its neccesary to start a new thread. I've been abroad for a while so I haven't been able to post here

Anyway, Isn't there a way you could backdoor a guitar to europe? I mean, send it in someway so you don't have to pay that m*therf*cking tax.

Probably if your name was on both the "From" and "TO" labels - showing that you bought it here (during a trip to Disneyland or whatever) and shipped it home.

Also, if you could show some sort of faked evidence that you used it on tour here (fake store receipt showing you bought it at home, but shipped it or carried it to the States)

Re: Can I imort Jacksons?

I bought a WRMG from Eastonguitars, paid 120$ or so for shipping to Germany and wasn't ever bothered with any kinds of taxes or other crap.
I ended up paying 490€ for a WRMG in Transgreen with case - over here, you pay 750€ for the guitar alone and an additional 170€ for the case. I paid via credit card, and Kevin is really great to deal with.

Yeah, but this is Sweden. The tax-country

I'm planning on buying a KV2 in august-september after I've worked my ass off in the summer
And for instead of that 25% extra tax.....I could fucking get another import guitar!
Tax sucks ass!

I've heard alot of good stuff about Kevin Easton, so I will probably buy from him

Well, in Germany we're not much better off either, the only thing you don't have to pay tax for is dying
You're supposed to pay tax here as well, but I guess I was lucky this time.

Hey hey. Now wait a minute here. You are talking about spending big money for buying a new guitar right? What if you bought it "used" from someone in the JCF, and they sent it to you or you had it sent to someone in the JCF and they sent it to you as a "gift"? You would have to set this up, but if you had someone here in the States pay for it for you and then send it to you as a gift or something-would that get rid of the tax?
LATER!!!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, it would probably get rid of the bulk of the taxes, but in Sweden there are taxes on gifts as well (if their value surpass a certain amount). I'm sure that tax exists only to cover up that loophole. -_-

Re: Can I imort Jacksons?

Yup. Gifts go up to 40$, and that's also the insured value, so if anything happens you're royally fucked.

And the thing about not paying any taxes sounds really great!

Yeah, and this is Norway, the tax-country#2.
But it also sucks big time that it`s really hard to get the guitar you want over here. I`ve mailed Matt at MattsMusic, and he could ship me the guitar I wanted for 150USD if he could get it. And that`s just awesome!!! Fellow JCF-member HuntinDoug also wanted to help out. Great guys for sure. JCF-members are incredible. And the norwegian goverment is
